Cake Mix Cookies

This isn’t a new hack, but when reader Etty Lax let us know that she tried it with great results, we realized it would come in very handy right about now!

It’s great for those who want a cute baking activity for the kids without much mess.

It’s also great for those who are away without a fully stocked pantry.

And it’s just fun when you want a quick and easy treat.

The concept is simple: turn any cake mix into a cookie mix by eliminating the water, using one less egg, and more oil.

“I have only tried it with Duncan Hines yellow cake mix and Duncan Hines Fruity Pebble cake mix,” Etty shared, “The results were AMAZING! The cookies were delicious and soft and creamy.”

We tested it out using the Yellow Cake Mix and a Chocolate Cake Mix.

Simply add 2 eggs and ½ cup of oil.

The batter does need to be refrigerated for 30 minutes before rolling into balls.

They spread so nicely and evenly.

I saw it on a different status that used duncan hines devil food cake mix and made it with the exact same recipe without refrigerating it and it still came out yummy!
So that’s another option for your readers- skip the refrigerator and use devil food cake mix

We do this with spice cake mix, pareve butterscotch chips, and crystallized ginger chopped up small. Also chocolate cake mix with chocolate chips.

I do this with 1/4 cup each water and oil and one egg. I also do not wait. I scoop them out and bake immediately. I also use the brownie mix if I want a chocolate cookie.
