Did you ever leave your home for the evening, realizing all the things you forgot to tell the babysitter?
We understand. You’re in a rush to settle the kids, get yourself ready, perhaps pick up the babysitter and get out of the house…when you realized that you never got a chance to give your babysitter the basic info.
We’ve been there too! So when one teen, Shayna K., emailed us asking to make one sheet that parents can fill out with important information – such as phone numbers, bedtimes, what to do when the baby wakes up, etc. (Is he hungry? Due for a bottle? Or just needs his pacifier and a little rocking?) Often, parents forget to leave important information and it’s just awkward for the babysitter to call. She doesn’t either want to bother you during your night out for most routine questions!
Shayna told us, “It would be so useful if parents had something hanging on their fridge!”
We realized it’s not only easier for the babysitters, it’s also much easier for parents to have one place where all the information is kept, so they don’t need scribble it all on a sheet of paper each time they’re leaving the house.
Click Here to download the fillable PDF Form.
You can also purchase a notepad that is customizable from Zazzle or a dry erase board.
Use this download as it works for you! You can fill out the information that doesn’t change in the PDF before you print it out, and then print out a bunch of copies to fill out the rest of the information before you go out. Or, you can simply fill out the information that doesn’t change on one sheet, and keep the information that does change (like what time you expect to be home) in pencil so you can erase each time.
Thank you Shayna for the suggestion!

This is such a nice idea but regarding how the sample was filled out, please, please don’t give babysitters access to your Wi-Fi without speaking to their parents first!

Excellent sheet! Something to keep in mind as many/most young families do not have a landline anymore – make sure that the babysitter has her own phone/can bring a phone. If not, make sure to have one for her, keeping in line with her family’s opinions on the type of phone and options on it (text/internet/etc). I know some families who got a simple kosher phone for use by babysitters – just make sure the plan is still working and that the phone is charged.
And moms of babysitting girls – your daughter may be too shy to ask if there will be a phone there, and the mom of the kids may not think of it. If your teen doesnt have a phone, you may need to be proactive and work out this detail. Also checking about internet access in general if that is important to you.

You can put this in a sheet protector and use a whiteboard marker to write down the info that changes

A sheet protector and a whiteboard marker can be used to record the updated information.
