Tired of Grosgrain? More Ways to Wrap It Up

Depending on how you’re packaging up your mishloach manos, you might need some ribbon.

We believe in simple no-fuss packaging (see this post for some practical ideas). Even with the most basic of boxes or bags (and that’s all you really need), often, it’s just the ribbon that pulls it together and makes the whole package look so inviting.

And if you don’t want to turn to grosgrain ribbon again, there are lots of beautiful and unique options out there.

Frayed Edge Chiffon Ribbon

We first fell in love with frayed ribbon when Shiffy Weinfeld used it back in this post. Here is the tutorial to use it to make place card holders. It’s a beautiful soft material, in a choice of many colors. Quick Tip: This ribbon is easy to use! No need for an elaborate bow. Just tie a knot and it’s beautiful. Choose pink for your daughter’s ballerina theme.

Thin Velvet Ribbon

Love this velvet ribbon! So different and elegant.

Burlap Ribbon

Burlap and pretty! Also, very well-priced

Sheer Chiffon Ribbon

This sheer chiffon is so beautiful! So many color choices and shades to pick from.

Navy Stitched Ribbon

Loving the color combo here.

Lace Ribbons

Lace ribbons, perfect for that vintage mishloach manos.

Black and White Ribbon

Black and white, always elegant, never goes out of style.

Wide Black and White Ribbon

Great quality, quantity and price! Nice styles!

Twill Tape Ribbon

Twill is a great ribbon option. It’s thick and more substantial than grosgrain and you get a lot of yardage for the money.

Twill Tape Ribbon – Natural

Ditto. So simple and timeless.

Bakery Twine

Twine is one of the most cost effective ways to tie up a box. And it doesn’t to be so boring. You can also get metallic versions here.

Colored Raffia

Another cost effective material, raffia doesn’t need to be plain beige anymore. It can be any color and look really cool!

Note that you will need to tie around a few times to get the effect.

Between Carpools

Between Carpools is a collaboration between five talented friends who like to get a lot of stuff done “between carpools.” Since 2016, we’ve been sharing home and organizing tips, parenting insights, activities, how-to’s and DIYs, and of course, entertaining ideas, recipes, and inspiring reads both on the site and app.
