30 Great Maternity Clothing Picks

If you’re expecting, you need a capsule wardrobe that’s full of great basics you won’t mind wearing again and again. The skirts, dresses, and sweaters below will take you through all 9 months.

These maternity clothes options are comfortable, flattering, and affordable. While some of the clothing picks are actual maternity, others aren’t but still work well as maternity. Please bear in mind that everybody carries differently so different things will work for different people in every stage.

My go-to is a more straight cut skirt with an oversized top so here are a bunch of options and the combinations can be endless. For the skirt I like something that’s straight but not too straight so that it’s still comfy to walk in.

CMoi Belted Knit Set

Loved this set from C’moi. Size up because the skirt is more fitted. The top has great coverage

And stretches so u can walk in it. Note that sale items are final sale.

Ribbed Mock Turtleneck

Contrast your knit set with a ribbed mockneck in a different color.

Ribbed Mockneck T-Shirt

Another stretchy option that will work.

Straight Skirt

This straight skirt is perfect for pairing with an oversized sweater.

Maternity Sweater Set

I own this set and live in it. I just paired it with a cream turtleneck and I’m dressed.

Have in mind that the skirt is more of a straighter fit and the top runs huge (I ordered one size up from my pre-pregnancy size.)

Maternity Slip Skirt

Yes, wear a slip when wearing slip skirts. I find that a good actual slip really makes a slip skirt look way more flattering and less clingy. I use this nylon slip. That being said, I love this skirt! It’s great for a comfy Shabbos outfit but still elegant and easy to dress up. It will be your dressy maternity solution.

Sweater with Buttoned Cuffs

I wear the skirt above with this sweater, sized up.

Generation Blazer

You can also layer a blazer over it!

Drawstring Skirt

This skirt is not maternity, but it has a drawstring which makes it maternity-friendly and adaptable for all your stages.

Slip Dress

I liked this slip dress! I felt it was a more flattering cut and fabric. Wear it layered with sweaters and blazers in the winter. As the weather gets warmer, it’s great with a tee-shirt tied over it or a shirt under or over it.

Black Denim Skirt

This isn’t such a straight cut, but it’s flattering and has a stretch in it so not as constricting as hard denim. You’ll need to size up. Pair it with slightly oversized sweaters like the options below.

Maternity Oversized Sweater

A great basic to go with any of the skirts or the dress above.

Oversized V-Neck

Pair with a turtleneck shell.

Maternity Striped Sweater

I have this sweater and love it over a slip skirt or even with a below the knee pleated skirt.

Oversized Cable Knit Sweater

Not maternity, but it works!

Oversized Cardigan

A basic that will be a go-to!

Blazer

Blazers are not only for the office. And they’re great for expecting moms in style.

Super Oversized Sweater

There’s lots of non-maternity sweaters you can find at good prices to expand your options.

Batwing Pullover

Nice style for less. Great to layer with a slip skirt or a straighter cut skirt as it has lots of coverage.

Sweater with Asymmetrical Roll Neck

Chic and wearable at the same time.

Tie Belt Jacket

So classy. Can finish an outfit or just throw it over the basics to look dressed.

Maternity Dresses

Pair this jumper with any thin turtleneck.

Denim Jumper

Super cute, comfy, and easy to wear.

Cozy Sweater Dress

Easy to wear, pretty, and comfortable.

The Peyton Sweater Dress

A sweater dress that’s not clingy and great all on its own, no thought required.

V-Neck Knit Maxi Dress

Good for layering with long cardi on top.

Easy Shabbos Dress

The black dress that won’t owe you any money.

Easy Shabbos Dress

This style, with a ribbed top and fuller skirt, is perfectly flattering for maternity wear.

Ruffled Puff Sleeve Dress

Your go-to for simchas!

Floral Shabbos Dress

Pair with a turtleneck sweater or shell.

Can you show additional slip dresses that are not high low that work for maternity with sweater or cardigan on top?

I’ve used regular slip dresses and just sized up.

It depends on how roomy the style is. I’ve gone up several sizes at times, and if I wanted to wear earlier in the pregnancy I took it in on the sides and then took it out later on.

Did anyone try any of the turtlenecks and can tell me how it looks in real life?

Would love any season with actual maternity companies/stores instead of regular and sizing up!
