I’m sorry to leave a negative comment, but this post makes me so sad. Most of these things are really unhealthy long term that are trying to suppress a natural function of the body. Try to focus on absorbtion (underarm pads etc) as opposed to suppressing sweat. Sweating is one of the body’s ways of getting rid of toxins. There’s a reason Hashem made it.
Ladies! I have hiperhidrosis and have tried many things over the years (Certaindry, Drysol, iontophoresis, etc.) with little to no results. I have since learned that those things aren’t good for my body anyway! But I will tell you the BEST thing I have done for myself – have more self-confidence! Someone makes a disgusted face and lets go of my hand at a simcha? (Yes, it’s happened many times.) Then I realize, let that be her deal! If she doesn’t like the sweat she can hold someone else’s hand. It doesn’t make me a gross person or a less-than human being. No, I’m not going to take a job in the copyroom of the school where I have to touch thousands of papers with my sweaty hands. Cotton shirts help, and of course a natural deodorant (which is usually fine without even needing to reapply on regular days). Hashem made me sweaty! I don’t know why, but I’m going to take care of and respect my body without trying to “fix it” with toxins.
Love this comment Meira!
Dollar tree sells a stick that’s aluminum free and really works great. It’s made from essential oils so smells a little more men’s but not bad. It’s from the sauve company a green stick, rosemary + mint.
clinical strength deodorant which contain high levels of aluminum can mess up girls/womens monthly cycles.
My pediatrician recommended Antibacterial Bar soap, which kills the germs that causes the odor.
Actual sweat doesnt have a bad odor, the germs do.
I don’t know if it was just me but I think it’s important to mention so you can do your own research before trying. I got certain dri after reading a few comments about it here on BCP. I tried it twice on moderately warm days and both times I got crazy heat flashes to the point where I could not handle and didn’t know what to do with myself. It took until the second time for me to realize the cause. I washed it off and felt much better. Sweat is there for a reason!
