“Empower your sons to check if their tzitzis are passul. Ask a favorite school rebbi or shul rabbi to teach them a few pointers and explain that often, each time they are washed they might need to be tightened. When they grab a pair in the morning they should glance at them and verify the kashrut.” -Ilana P

Do you have a genius way of washing tzitzis?
I love the blue tzitzis contraption they sell at the judaica/trimming store! Says מגן ציצית on it. In NY they sell for around $8-$12 but I picked up a few when I was in Israel a few years ago for under $5 each!
I do similar to your sock idea but in a mesh bag and instead of using ponytail holders or rubber band I just tie the package into a knot.
I wash tzitzis daily for my little boys and I find the wrapping a bit annoying. So I put the tzitZis in a mesh bag and wash normally. When I take them out to dry I hang them up and very carefully untangle the strings and straighten them by hand. They dry beautiful and straight. The trick is to straighten the strings while they are still wet.
I second the blue plastic contraption. I’ve tried many things over the years and it worked the best for me!!
Love the blue plastic contraption!!!!!! I have two of them, they are awesome!

What’s the trick to keeping the strings white – I was told that Bleach and/or hot water make them yellow. If you have the extra time – iron the strings after – it takes a second and makes a difference.
