The easiest ways to get those heaven curls for your little girls.
Over the years, we’ve posted lots of curly hair advice. Perhaps it’s because some of us have daughters who have.
There was this post, written by a teen with curly hair. There were these tips and tricks from hairstylist Mimi Brachfeld who grew up with curls herself.
It seems like we have enough on the topic. But when Devoiry Kalish of Noir Gifts told us about her discovery and how very simple it was to make her daughter’s curls look their best, we knew we had to share yet another tip! (Devoiry also brought us the tablesetting inspo in this siyum and the instant wrinkle release hack over here.)

“It’s a breeze!” Devoiry told us. All you need is this Pantene Detangling Milk and a spritz bottle of water.
After the bath or shower, spritz hair generously with water. Then, apply detangler.

Starting from the bottom, brush hair. That’s it!
Then let hair dry naturally.
Would looooove a post for little girls with thin hair!!! So hard to keep it looking nice…
Yes! My daughter has thin nothing hair that is also curly. I use another milk spray and it works but overall her hair is so whispy!
agree with above poster!!
thin fly away hair….
Starting from the bottom, brush hair.
Can you explain this please?
Thank you, can’t wait to try!
It basically means don’t try detangling the hair by starting to brush from the top.
Instead, first just brush the bottom two inches of the hair, working slowly to detangle. When that’s done, move up another two inches, etc. until it’s all brushed out.
What kind of brush do you use?
What do you do in the mornings? My daughter has curly hair and we have a nice after-bath routine but it’s still always messy in the morning. Any way to avoid her having to get all her hair soaking wet and still be able to style her curls in the morning?
I do this at night and in the morning.
Best blog post for curly hair! And yes I tried them all… what I did: used this product after the bath yesterday. Today in the morning I wet my hands and massaged the water into my daughter’s hair. Then I used the product from above. Once a bit dry I used a little mousse and my daughters hair looks amazing!!! From frizzy, bushy hair to neat little curls thank you betweencarpools!
You say to spritz with the detangler but it comes in a pump bottle. How do you do that?
You are right. The correct word is ‘apply’
Spray the kids here with plain water and use The Wet Brush with mousse most beautiful results, least painful.
As a mom of curly heads as well as a former curlyhead…
People will try to sell you all kinds of products stick to these
Which brand of mousse do you use?
Thank you for this post!
What do you recommend for shabbos when we can’t reapply in the morning?
before shabbos, i put a mousse. on shabbos i wet my hands and run my fingers thru the curls. the water reactivates the mousse and it looks perfect, just like every day
check with your LOR but i do believe that that is assur as it is just like reapplying the mousse
I just fill a spray bottle with water and a generous squirt of conditioner (regular conditioner, not specifically leave-in – any cheap brand) and spray my daughter’s hair until it’s wet. Then it can be brushed and styled. We do this every morning before school and it’s so easy – you just need the spray bottle and hairbrush.
I use the same spray on my other daughters who don’t have curly hair, too, as a detangler.
