Avoid having your dresses touch the floor with a simple hanging method.
With dresses being very popular right now, you might find you don’t have enough space to hang your longer clothes (especially so since longer lengths are more in style now… and your skirts might also be clogging the long-hanging real estate).

Or maybe you have some dresses that are too long for a standard height closet rod. Depending on the length of your dress – and the height of your closet – there are two ways you can hang the dress to make it shorter.
The first is simplest. Instead of hanging the dress the usual way, fold the dress over the bar of the hanger. Easy. Also, great for knits which shouldn’t be stretched out on a hanger. This method might not work well for slippery fabrics and it can also be hard to see the dress when it’s hanging between other items.
To get the dress short enough to fit in the short hanging area, while still able to see the dress from the side, follow along with these steps:

Lay the dress flat and fold in the two sides.

Slide the hanger up the dress about a third of the way up.

Now move the hanger to the top of the dress.

Put the hanger into the dress and hang it as usual.

Bonus tip: Having a rolling coat rack for extra clothing can be very useful, especially when making a simcha. You can prepare dresses and gowns without squishing them into a closet. The one shown in the image is no longer available on Amazon, but this one is similar.
Does this work for long sleeve dresses?
Yes. Try it
