Your kids will love this fun family activity, and you get to relax and be wined and dined, for once.
This fun Chanukah evening activity is one of the best memories of my childhood. You might have “played this game” yourself, as a child, especially if you grew up in an out of town community, like me.
Setting up a “restaurant meal” was so exciting. And our mother letting us do whatever we pleased, and giving us free reign of the menu and the kitchen was the best part! We planned, we shopped, we cooked, we set up the table, and then…customers showed up! Yes, the customers were our parents and our toddler siblings, maybe even a cousin, but nobody minded. It was the best night of the year. We made sure every detail was perfect as we rushed to seat our guests and take their orders.
We figured, if we enjoyed it so much, and if the memories are still so vivid in our minds, our children would too.
All you need to do is inspire them, maybe download a menu card (Why not? It makes it more professional and fun!) and let them do their thing.
Here are a few items that can make the night super fun, without spending too much.
Want to serve french fries in the most fun way? Check these adorable french fry holders out.
They even have a small cup for the ketchup.
Simply set the table, place some rolls in a bowl,
light a candle or two and you are in business. Get your kids involved and you will see, this will be their most memorable night of the week.
The menu doesn’t have to be complicated (we won’t tell anyone if you buy the appetizer and simply heat it up in the oven). The point is to have fun!
You can download the menu here. Print at home or at a print shop and fill it out!
