These Are a Few of My Favorite…Makeup Brushes

A good makeup brush is equally important as the product you are using.

Applying makeup with the right tools (in this case, brushes) is really going to make all of the difference when achieving that finished look. Here are my favorites (including the products I use them with!).

Ultimate Blending Brush

This will get your foundation on to a full coverage.

Real Techniques

Blush Brush

This is THE BEST bronzer and blush brush (you can buy two if you want to keep a separate.one for bronzer one for blush)

Physicians Formula

Murumuru Butter Bronzer

By the way, this is a bronzer I’ve been loving. I first recommended it on Between Carpools in this post.

Real Techniques

Setting Brush

This is a great multipurpose brush. I love it for setting your concealer with powder so that it doesn’t crease and liner doesn’t run. Set eyelids with this after priming them and before shadow. Can also be used as a highlighter brush.

Real Techniques

Powder Bronzer

I like to use this brush to set the face after foundation with setting powder (before bronzer and blush).

Rimmel London

Lasting Powder

This is a great easy-to-use setting powder (to set concealer or any places that get oily such as the nose or forehead)

Morphe

Eye Makeup Brush Set

If you are a little more advanced and like to create different eye looks, this set is great. It has every brush you need and is really well-priced.

Morphe

Basic Eye Brush

If you prefer sticking to basic eye looks, all you need is a small fluffy brush like this. Just blend out a neutral color in your crease and pat a shimmer shadow onto your lid with your finger and you’re good to go!

Mac

Eyeliner Brush

This is nice and thin, making it easy to create precise lines.

AMC

Eyeliner Gel

Use it with an eyeliner gel like this one.

      Hi!
Use the powder after the foundation, before the bronzer! Buy color 001 Transparent. Good luck and let me know how it goes! I have so many different foundations for different skin types and finishes…you can reach out to me privately and I will try to help you!

do you think the lasting powder is an important part of a face? Ive always just done spot cover up, liquid base, and then bronzer.. what does the powder do? I’m doing my own for a wedding.. done it before and love doing it:) and I buy a new makeup piece each time… I just bought the bronzer for a wedding coming up, but thinking to maybe also get the powder… just not sure what its purpose is … if its necessary…
        THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY!!

Setting powder is great for making your makeup last longer, keeping the foundation and concealer from creasing and to help your bronzer and blush go on smoother. There are many setting powders out there, this one is pretty basic, great for everyday. For a wedding, there are many great options depending on your skin type…

What color bronzer do you suggest?

      Hey,
I found the color “bronzer” to be the most universal, but if your deeper skin tone you may want “deep bronze”.
      Good luck!
