You don’t need a mixer…you’ll even save yourself lots of chopping time. Let the food processor do these 3 jobs.
The first few years I made Pesach I didn’t yet own a stand mixer (this year is actually the first time a mixer is included among my Pesach equipment!). All those years, I made lots of no mixer brownies (like this recipe), and for all the other items I needed to mix, I used my food processor. Yup, you heard right.
I don’t even recommend getting a hand mixer. Hand mixers are ridiculous tools that just cause tremendous wrist pain. And they take forever to whip up a dozen egg whites.
If you do own a food processor, here are 3 hacks to try for Pesach and all year round.
Whip Those Egg Whites
Obviously, we start with the cakes. This white little tool in the Braun food processor is perfect for whipping egg whites. It may actually do a better job than your KitchenAid (don’t let Renee Muller hear me say that).
Chopping Veggies
While it’s not a perfect little dice, chopping up vegetables in the food processor for soups saves so much time it’s worth it. Use the “S” blade.
Grating Chocolate
Ever tried making a recipe that calls for grated chocolate? It takes as much time to grate the chocolate as it does to make and bake the entire recipe.
