Prepare a large batch and store it in a squeeze bottle. Serve fresh pancakes for breakfast in minutes!
Do your kids love pancakes for breakfast but it feels like you don’t have time to make them fresh and make it to the bus stop on time? We’ve got you covered!
Simply prepare a large batch of your favorite pancake batter. We love these protein-rich pancakes all year – not just on Pesach! Simply replace the potato starch with any type of flour – even gluten-free. Another favorite recipe is the classic pancake on page 185 in Dinner Done.
Ladle the batter into a squeeze bottle or two (or four) – this can be messy so work over the bowl. When they’re full, you can freeze them to use another time, or store in the fridge to use within the next 3-4 days.
If you make different types of pancakes, make sure to label the bottles accordingly. I like to add the date and dairy/parve status to avoid confusion.
If the batter is too thick, you might need to trim the tip of the squeeze bottle a bit with scissors
to make a bigger hole. Want to have your frozen bottle thawed for morning breakfast? Move it from the freezer to the fridge the night before.
And when it’s time to cook the pancakes, simply squeeze some batter neatly over your skillet or griddle. Add blueberries, chocolate chips etc – or don’t. Fresh pancakes are always a hit!
Can you link to your label maker? Thanks!
HI,
Can you please give us a link to a label maker that does not need a smartphone?
Thanks!
I have been using squeeze bottles for pancake batter for a while and its super convenient! I use a funnel to get it neatly in the bottle with no mess. Enjoy!
I do this too! When I can’t find my funnel I just pour the batter into a plastic 7 oz. cup and squeeze the end to pour it in. Maybe it’s an extra step but I find it easier than cleaning up the bottle or a funnel afterwards.
I also label the bottle with masking tape. Just write the contents on a piece of tape and stick it on the bottle. I also write the date on another piece of tape and stick that on lower down.
I use the Whiskware Pancake Batter Dispenser and Mixer from Amazon. It’s great because it holds a lot at once and you can unscrew the bottom and use it as a base to prop the dispenser on upside down to pour the batter in. No mess, hassle free!
You can pour the whole batter into a 2 lb container and then squeeze the container and you can pour it into the bottle. No mess!!
I poured one breakfast amount of batter in a small ziplock. Froze a bunch of them flat, then snipped off a corner when ready to bake it! Game changer! (Pour it into the bag by putting bag into 1lb deli container and folding the top of bag over sides and fill it.
Mine came out a little flat after freezing it… I used the protein recipe posted… any ideas?
Make shake to fluff it up?
