Hot Apple Cranberry Drink for Long Winter Nights

It’s the perfect thing to serve and relax with on a long Friday night, after a delicious meal

Do you ever feel like you would like to add that finishing touch to a Shabbos meal, a way to extend the time spent with your family and maybe friends too, with ongoing conversation and ideally the perfect drink

Well, here is just the thing.

Cranberry juice in a pot, pouring apple juice into a Pyrex glass measuring cup, cinnamon sticks nearby

It’s just three ingredients. And all you need to do is combine and simmer.

Serving with a ladle from a pot on a trivet near a hot plate.

The reason why it works really well for me is because I prep it right before Shabbos and leave it on my “blech” or hot plate, and literally, forget about it. It would work well in a warming drawer or oven. Basically, whichever way you keep your soup warm will work well for this too.

Ladling into a glass mug.

When the meal is over, I like to put out some nuts, some pitzuchim (sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds) if I have them and then ladle out the tea into mugs.

Apple cider in 2 glass mugs.

Serve and enjoy!

Easy Homemade Apple Cider

  • 1 bottle apple juice
  • 3-4 cinnamon sticks

What do you mean by “equal amounts of both” – both what? Both juices?

Absolutely delicious!! This will become our new Friday night “tea”. I just wish it wasn’t so unhealthy with all the sugars….

After heating up the juices I transfer it to a (pre-heated) thermos
