How to Cook Pasta in Your Betty Crocker

This little appliance does way more than we thought.

We fell in love with the Betty Crocker pizza maker a bit after Shaindy shared why she thinks the Betty Crocker is the best small appliance.

We first assumed that it’s simply the perfect traveling appliance.
But once we began pulling it out day after day at home too, we realized it may just have a permanent place on the counter.

So why does everyone love it?

  1. There’s no fire to turn on. It’s like a glorified sandwich maker.
  2. It’s easy to clean. There’s no stove top to clean, no pots to wash. Just wipe clean (a post on cleaning your Betty Crocker is coming soon!).
  3. You can literally cook anything in it.
  • Eggs
  • Pancakes
  • Pizza
  • Toasted Bread
  • Roasted Vegetables

Esti Hecht, from EstiHecht Photography, was recently renovating her kitchen. She had no appliances available to cook a meal. So, she turned to her Betty Crocker and showed us how she used it to make rice and pasta.

We thought pasta was an awesome idea and tried it out. It’s perfect for Sundays when only one or two kids want pasta and you don’t want to wash pots or wait for water to boil for just one little bit.

So, here’s how to cook pasta in your Betty Crocker.

Place 3 cups pasta into the Betty Crocker.

Add 3 cups water (we used cold/room temperature water).

Cover and cook 12-14 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. You may need more water (up to 1 more cup) depending on the pasta shape.

Once it’s cooked all you need to do is add some pasta sauce and cheese

and the meal is done!

Thanks. We removed the link since parchment paper needs kosher certification. If you find a link with one please share.

Some other great things that we make in our Betty Crocker include sunny side up eggs, salmon, eggplant parm, tuna patties, even chocolate chip cookies! It’s also perfect for heating up cold pizza quickly. You literally can make anything with it! It definitely has a permanent spot on the counter. We put parchment paper under most things to eliminate the clean up which can be annoying.

Is a 16 oz box of pasta equivalent to 3 cups? Don’t wanna sit and measure lol

Love my Betty Crocker. It is out all week every day. We make par baked rolls, French toast, egg omelette then dump on a wrap and flip, and of course pizza! Just got one for fleishigs so far I just made breaded cutlets in it. Would love some more fleishigs ideas. Oh and my best treat is two kineret/David’s cookies on a double piece of parchment paper so it doesn’t get so well done on bottom before top is cooked. Bake it a few minutes and eat with ice cream. I do this waaaaaay too often

Thanks for your great website! The Betty Crocker is actually on sale now at Bingo in Boro Park for $25.00. Regular price there is $30.00. (I don't know about their other locations). Keep up the great work! Thanks!

Keep in mind Bingo sells an off brand. We never tried the off brand.

I have no connection to Bingo and I'm not pushing their store. They do have the Betty Crocker brand in all their stores now for $25.00. Sale through 3/14{Sunday). Just passing on the savings to others. (Btw, I did buy the Commercial Chef pizza maker a few months ago and I am happy with it).

Yup. I bought the Betty Crocker band name there too. In fact, I bought 4! One for dairy, one for meat, one for the country and one for Pesach…

How do you get the water and noodles out of pan without burning yourself?

    1. Leah Avatar
      Leah

The water evaporates and you are left just with cooked pasta.

I’ve made this in a small round or square pan in the Betty Crocker. Just bend the rims slightly and it will fit just fine. You might have to add a few minutes to the cooking time but this definitely makes it a lot easier to take the food out.

We have a Fleishigs one too. Instead of getting a diff color we drilled a small hole on the edge of the lip . (We didn’t know a black one existed.
I wondered which pasta works the best that you do t need to add water ?

Red is the traditional Fleishig color.
We got Betty crocker’s Pizza Maker for Pizza & Milchigs and the other brand from Bingo for Fleishigs…

We enjoy Salmon with frozen veggies like cauliflower & broccolli
