Make a batch of this grape juice sorbet and freeze it in tiny containers. No scooping or sticky hands necessary!
Every Pesach season, I turn to Chantzy Weinstein’s Instagram feed (@chantzyW) for some new practical, down to earth advice. And last year, she didn’t disappoint. This grape juice sorbet is delicious.

But so much more GENIUS than that is the packaging! Individual servings, people. This one is all about the individual servings.

Make a batch, scoop it into little containers and the sticky, messy part of the treat is behind you. Poof! I kept a 9×13 full of these little containers in the freezer and everyone was able to help themselves without making a mess. Score!

Break ices into pieces

and blend in food processor using the S blade.

Scoop into individual 4-ounce cups with lids.
Grape Juice Sorbet
Ingredients
- 6 cups water
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup lemon juice (fresh is best)
- 6 cups grape juice
Instructions
- Combine the water and sugar in a pot on a low flame until the sugar dissolves. Add both juices. Cook an additional 5 minutes. Let cool completely and transfer to 2 9×13 disposable pans. Freeze overnight.
- Break ices into pieces and blend in food processor using the S blade. Don’t overprocess! Scoop into individual 4-ounce cups with lids.
Notes

This is really good. One more tip- if you make these using white grape juice, you don’t have to worry about the kids clothing getting grape juice stains. It’s so much neater!
Seriously pure brilliance! Thank you!
Great idea!
It’s my pesach in my house if we didn’t make this ices.
Faygie you are a genius!
Great recipe. We used to always eat it until we were told it’s a Sheila which bracha you make on it!
Should not be a Shaila of brocha since the entire mixture is cooked and therefore the grape juice is no longer a Hagofen.
This is great for pesach and for summer!
Thanks for posting!
As to the bracha – it’s not that simple indeed.. machlokes between the Aschkanzim (RM”A) and Sefardim (Beis Yosef).
If you eat it as desert, you already made Hagofen by Kidush, so you can just serve along with it some chocolate or anything to be able to say Shehakol too and then it’s OK.
But as treat it’s a different story.. I asked a shayla, will post the answer as soon as I get it.
I wonder if one can use orange juice or apple juice to replace the grape juice and avoid any shaila of bracha?
unclear which is correct. 6 cups of grape juice or 3?
6 cups.
Can i use liquid sugar for this recipe?
Did anyone get a peak regarding what Bracha to make?
I love the idea of putting the ices into these containers. I made mango ices and blueberry ices and put them in these cups. I served them by stacking them and putting a piece of twine around it. It made for a beautiful presentation. Thank you for the great idea.
What kind of blender do I need to make this into sorbet? And in expensive styles?
Tried this last year but was such a mess filling these little containers… How did you do it without it being a sticky mess.
