Dreaming of food but can’t think straight enough to make a menu and start cooking for break-the-fast? We’ve made it easy.
What’s one of the items on your to-do list during a fast day? Is one of them whipping up some comfort foods for after the fast? Here are a couple of suggestions to cook or bake today, if you have the strength. And if you’re not fasting, they’re great options that the rest of your family would enjoy.
Start with Fresh Bread
Fresh bread is most welcome after a fast. Perhaps try an overnight no knead bread. Start it when you have energy (it needs at least 8 hours, so start it in the morning) and you’ll be rewarded with fresh bread after the fast. Or try this spelt bread (this one only needs 1 hour to rise and about ½ hour to bake).
Or…Something Easier (and Cheesier) Than Fresh Bread
This is even more practical! Once we’re talking about bread, use your favorite challah dough, or store-bought pizza dough and make these amazing cheesy breads in minutes.
